It was a pleasure to attend the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWAST) Parliamentary Reception last week.
SWAST is responsible for providing vital ambulance services across 10,000 square miles, covering 20% of mainland England. With 92 ambulance stations, two Emergency Operations Centres, and a team of nearly 6,000 dedicated staff, SWAST plays an essential role in delivering emergency care to over 5.5 million residents and millions of visitors each year.
It was fantastic to meet the incredible staff who work tirelessly on the front lines including paramedics, technicians, and volunteers. Their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the South West and Forest of Dean is inspiring.
I’m proud to support them in their ongoing efforts to improve patient care and staff well-being. Their hard work and dedication are a testament to the strength and resilience of our emergency services.
