Today, I am launching my Women and Girls’ Health Campaign to listen to your experiences, highlight what is not working, and push for the improvements you need and deserve.
I want to hear from women and girls across the Forest of Dean about their experiences of healthcare—from your earliest experiences of seeking support, through the different stages of life and as your health needs change.
For too long, our grandmothers, mothers, daughters and all women and girls in our lives have not received the healthcare they should have.
Since being elected, I have consistently heard from women and girls about the challenges they face when needing healthcare support and attention. Too often, you are not listened to, symptoms are dismissed, and the right support and expertise are out of reach.
You deserve better.
Getting the right healthcare is not too much to ask for. It should not be a luxury to find a doctor who understands your health, treats you with respect, listens to what you are saying and takes your concerns seriously.
Enough is enough.
This campaign is about making sure your experiences and voices are heard.
I want to hear what is happening to women and girls across the Forest of Dean, what is going horribly wrong, where the gaps are, and most importantly, what needs to improve.
To launch this campaign, I am inviting women and girls across the Forest of Dean, of all ages, to join me at an event to share your real lived experiences of local healthcare.
As always, everything you share will be treated sensitively and confidentially, and the event will be handled calmly and delicately.
I am committed to making sure women’s and girls’ voices are heard and help drive the improvements we need to see in healthcare locally.
