Behind the A40 works: Impact on Local Businesses

The impact of the A40 is significant for so many of us—getting to work, attending hospital appointments, getting children to school and college, seeing friends and family, and caring for loved ones.
But for the businesses along the A40, things are really tough.
I’ve been in regular contact with Rees and Brogan since the roadworks began, and it was good to visit them in person and hear directly how Phase 2—now that the contraflow is in place—is affecting their footfall and overall business.
While I continue to engage with Highways regularly and make sure your voices are heard at every step, I want to encourage everyone to get behind Over Farm and The Lock Keepers and show them our community support.
I’ll be popping in and out, and I hope as many of you as possible will do the same.
Whether it’s stopping for a meal, grabbing a coffee, buying your ingredients for tea, or having a family day out, let's get behind these local businesses!
