Great news! This morning, it was confirmed that Lydney Church of England Community School has secured funding through Labour’s Condition Improvement Fund. This is a real win for local families and one that will make a lasting difference.
Every child deserves a safe, equipped, and comfortable place to learn. That’s why it is excellent to see our local school benefitting from £20.6 million being invested in education across the Southwest, part of a wider £470 million package to improve schools and healthcare facilities nationwide.
Schools across the country will benefit from this funding, helping to tackle long-overdue issues such as crumbling roofs and dangerous asbestos. It will enable them to provide energy-efficient classrooms, safe outdoor spaces, and learning environments fit for the future.
For me, investing in education means putting money where it matters—supporting our young people and their families right here in the Forest of Dean so they have the best opportunities to succeed.
Restoring pride in England’s classrooms and undoing years of dangerous Conservative neglect is vital, and it is fantastic to see those changes taking effect here at home, in the Forest of Dean.
