Village Award Winners 2026

This week saw a moment to celebrate the community spirit found across Gloucestershire, highlighting our fantastic villages here in the Forest of Dean.

The Gloucestershire Village of the Year Awards, hosted by the Gloucestershire Rural Community Council, celebrated the community-focused work being done by villages right across the county.

I am very pleased that two of our villages were recognised during the awards and given credit for the great work they do in their communities.

• Westbury-on-Severn won the award in the Digital category

  
  

• Berry Hill was named runner-up in the Community-led Health and Wellbeing category

  
  

We are incredibly lucky to have such strong, community-spirited villages across the Forest of Dean.

Congratulations to everyone in Westbury-on-Severn and Berry Hill on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for everything you do to enrich your communities day in and day out.
