Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill

As your MP, I want to hear your views on the proposed changes to Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment (PIP). Please take a moment to share your thoughts so I can represent you effectively in Parliament.

The Bill proposes to:

• Increase the rates of Universal Credit, including the standard allowance and disability-related elements.

• Change income-related Employment and Support Allowance.

• Restrict eligibility for Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

This Bill will be debated in Parliament at Second Reading on 1st July.

At the Second Reading, MPs vote on the principle of the Bill—whether it should proceed at all. This is not the final vote!

If it passes, MPs can put forward amendments at later stages, before a final vote is taken at Third Reading, when the final version of the Bill is approved or rejected.

I’d like to know whether you think I should vote for or against the Bill—or whether I should support it at the 2nd reading in order to try to make changes before the final vote.

Do you support the Bill as it has been presented?
Do you support the changes being proposed to Universal Credit?
Do you support the changes being proposed to Personal Independence Payment?
Do you want me to vote for the Bill as presented at Second Reading on 1st July?
Would you support me voting for the Bill at Second Reading in order to present amendments before the Third Reading?
