Following the Prime Minister’s urging during PMQs for the CEO of Travelodge to attend meetings with me and several other MPs and ministers, I was extremely disappointed that they did not attend the meeting scheduled for yesterday.
This lack of engagement is disheartening. My fellow MPs and I are eager to work collaboratively with Travelodge and the wider industry to strengthen standards and ensure robust safeguarding measures are in place for all guests—particularly women, girls, and vulnerable individuals.
I hope Travelodge will reconsider its position and engage constructively in future discussions on this important matter.
The industry as a whole must do better
