It’s hard to believe, but today marks ONE YEAR since I was elected as your Member of Parliament for the Forest of Dean.
While much of what I’ve been working on may not always make it to social media, there’s been so much happening behind the scenes—and I wanted to share just a few key highlights with you.
Welcoming Government Ministers:
Since taking office, I've had the privilege of hosting key Government Ministers in our constituency, including Stephen Morgan (School Buildings Minister) and Steven Reed (Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).
Making an Impact in Parliament:
I’ve held over 50 meetings with Ministers and actively contributed in Parliament through both speeches and written submissions. I’ve also served on 3 Public Bill Committees, shaping vital legislation on issues like terrorism, children’s wellbeing, and crime and policing.
Community Engagement:
In the constituency, my team and I have addressed thousands of cases from local residents. I’ve held regular surgeries, visited local schools, businesses, charities, farms, attended NFU events and volunteered alongside groups like Community First Responders and even spent a shift with local paramedics.
Building Local Partnerships:
I’m committed to working alongside key local leaders, from the Forest of Dean District Council to Gloucestershire NHS, to ensure we’re tackling the issues that matter most to you.
Everything I do is for the Forest of Dean, my home, and for all of you who have placed your trust in me, and those who are of a different political alliance.
The journey doesn’t stop here. With 4 years to go until the next election, there is so much more to be done, and I will continue working tirelessly alongside local businesses, charities, and community leaders—regardless of political affiliation—to deliver real, lasting change.
Thank you for your continued support, and here's to another year of progress!
