New Vocational GCSEs

I have been lucky enough, since becoming MP, to have spent a lot of time with young people in the Forest of Dean.

Mock Parliament showcases just how talented, impressive and confident our young people are. They deserve every opportunity.

And that includes technical education, too.

Vocational GCSEs will sit alongside traditional GCSEs and replace existing Technical Awards, helping create pathways to A, V and T Levels, and employment, apprenticeships and university - ending the two-tier system where technical routes have been treated as second best.

These new opportunities will ensure today’s students have the skills for the jobs of the future.

I am committed to supporting young people in the Forest of Dean and backing every measure to open opportunities up for them.
