National Association of Retired Police Officers

On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of attending an event hosted by the National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO) and supported by Later Life Ambitions. It was important to me to meet the widows, widowers, and surviving partners of police officers who have passed away, (including constituents from the Forest) as they shared the ongoing challenges they face due to unfair pension rules.

NARPO’s campaign for reform to police survivors’ pensions is vital, and I stand firmly with them in their continued efforts to ensure these families are supported and treated fairly.

A personal highlight of the day was speaking with Graham Cole Obe, (whose iconic role in The Bill inspired me to pursue a career in policing in the first place) and hearing of the support he gives to NARPO and emergency services as a whole!

Thank you to everyone who attended and for your continued support of this important cause.
