Lydney Boxing Club

It was great to visit Lydney Boxing Club and meet head coach Bryan Higgs, along with the amazing team behind this community club.

For decades, this club has changed young lives across the Forest of Dean—giving kids purpose, confidence, and a place to be active. It's not just about boxing; it’s about giving kids something positive to be a part of.

The club now faces a critical moment - Regent’s Hall, its long-term home, is up for sale. Securing the building would provide Lydney Boxing Club the stability it needs to continue growing and supporting the next generation.

I spoke with Bryan, whose passion and commitment to the club and community is inspiring. As he said, “The club has given memories to children that they will never forget.”

With nearly 1 in 4 Year 6 children in our area now classed as obese, access to clubs like this has never been more important.
