Backing the Hospitality Sector

I’ve co-signed this letter to the Chancellor to highlight just how important the hospitality sector is — both nationally and here in the Forest of Dean.
Our local pubs, cafés, restaurants, and B&Bs are more than just businesses. They provide jobs and apprenticeships, support local suppliers, and offer spaces for people to come together.
Like many sectors, hospitality has faced real challenges in recent years, from rising costs to staff shortages, but it remains one of the UK’s most socially and economically valuable industries. It contributes billions to the economy, employs millions of people, and plays a crucial role in growth.
As the Government prepares the Autumn Budget, it’s right that we recognise the pressures facing hospitality and look at how we can best support it.
I’ll keep backing our fantastic local businesses that make the Forest of Dean such a welcoming and vibrant place.
