An extra £14,460,492 will be invested in Gloucestershire’s buses! Ensuring that people in the Forest of Dean who rely on our bus services see meaningful improvements.
This Labour Government is supporting every community to take back control of their buses and providing fair funding to make it happen.
Routes improved
Improved access to jobs, schools and town centres
Passenger needs put first
It’s vital that the Forest of Dean gets the funding it deserves so that the people who rely on our buses see the improvements they need: easier access to work and hospital appointments, better coverage across the whole Forest, and a bus service that delivers convenience and accessibility for everyone.
At my public meeting earlier this week, buses and public transport were raised repeatedly. I heard those concerns, and I welcome this investment as an important step toward delivering the tangible improvements residents need.
I have written to the Leader of Gloucestershire County Council today to urge her to listen to the needs of our area and provide the fair funding the Forest needs for its bus services. I have heard your concerns, and I am committed to working hard to secure real improvements to our buses and transport links, so everyone in the Forest of Dean can travel reliably every day.
