From my own experience working in the education system, hearing the frustrations of teachers and SENCos, and fellow constituents, I know that improving the system of support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is vital.
Last month, I hosted a roundtable discussion with nearly 40 school representatives and SENCOs from across the Forest of Dean. As part of my efforts to understand the full picture, I now want to hear from you — the families and parent carers on the front line, navigating a broken system.
The Government have announced that they plan to publish a Schools White Paper to look at SEND reform this Autumn. Before that, as your MP, I want to take your voices to Westminster and advocate for meaningful change.
If you live in the Forest of Dean and would like to join this discussion, please RSVP below.
This event is a group discussion and a chance to share your experiences and help shape the future of SEND support in England.
We will not be able to discuss individual cases during the event but please continue to contact my office for 1:1 support.
